A post on Twitter says “Hugh Laurie definitely out of RoboCop reboot, not that he was ever “in”. There will still be a number of other biggies associated with RoboCop including Joel Kinnaman in the lead role, Samuel L Jackson, Gary Oldman and Abbie Cornish, to name a few.

Not that Hugh Laurie will not be busy as he has several other projects in hand. For example he has been cast with Leighton Meester in The Oranges, which is due to be aired in the the US on October 5. He will also be seen in Mr Pip, which will be released for the first time at the Toronto Film Festival in September.

Shore isn’t scared to bring up a potential movie. “I would love to do [the film]” he stated. “I’m sure everybody would love to do it.” While optimistic, Shore still acknowledges the difficulty of such a project. “Logistically it’s a difficult thing to do. But it could be fun.”

Perhaps most difficult aspect to consider is Robert Leonard’s character, and his cancerous diagnosis towards the end of the series. “It’s certainly going to be tricky with Wilson, because we’re clearly saying [Wilson is] dying… but it could be done”

The last episode of House ended up reeling in 8.7 million viewers, the highest levels in months.

It’s common for a show to end on the promise of the movie, but it is rarely fulfilled. This fact was not lost on David. “Logistically it’s a difficult thing to do. But it could be fun.” Part of the problem of creating a feature length film is the fate of one of the characters. “It’s certainly going to be tricky with Wilson, because we’re clearly saying [he is] dying…” the creator noted “But it could be done.”

This final episode of House drew in over eight and a half million viewers in the United States.

This is actually not the time to start looking at the flaws of an episode because this is actually the last episode and fans were more interested on following it to its last stop than scrutinizing everything that was done. What they did do right was to give fans some degree of closure with the characters in question.

This episode starts with House on the floor lying beside a dead patient. Not much was said about how things got to that point but they continued from there to revisit the major milestones of the show in terms of the themes that has been pushed around all this while. The everybody dies is just one of the themes but what they did was to focus on some of those key themes and use them to bring some kind of closure to one character or the other. Maybe with House, he came to understand that there are really some things that he can’t change or do.

The episode was more or less a metaphor of the whole series. And as they showcased frequently talked about themes they also touched on things that were mostly shown but hardly ever talked about. For instance, there were so many time that House has placed his own feelings over those that were around him.

If there was something that was consistent over the eight years of the show it was that House has consistently chosen himself over others. This is why he had been alone most of the time. That was the path he had consistently followed any time anything came up that should tell him to back down and think of the next person for once which is something that happens often.

But the series finale gave him one final reason to think about someone else but himself. It had been building ever since Wilson took to bed. It was Wilson’s situation that got him to concede something very big and thinks of another person.

Wilson has got only five months to live and House made a choice to stay with him and for him for that period. He had this big issue of whether to end his life or continue with it but what the writers did was to bring some old faces who in their various ways told him to stick around on this side of life. Past characters like Anne Dudek, Sela Ward and Jennifer Morrison made appearances. The only person not present was Lisa Edelstein.

The episode was a befitting final to the whole show as it left fans with a good feeling about the characters. House is one of the strongest and some would say most pig headed characters to have graced television for so long a period in a lead role. Here’s wishing all the actors and crew members that made this happen the best in their future endeavors.

His decision was that he was not going to pursue any more treatment. He seemed to have resigned himself to fate and wanted to die with as much dignity he could muster. He was an oncologist and had seen how patients under treatment have been reduced. He did not want to go that path since death was a certainty.

But House would have none of it. He tried everything, fought with everyone to make him and tem see that Will should fight the disease. But what this episode really highlighted was that there were some things that House could not control. Things close to him had been going out of control so whenever he sees something he feels he can change he attacks. But the issue with House is that he feels he can attack everything. His response to Will’s decision was that he was not going to let him die.

So he sets out to convince him that he chose the wrong option. One of the things he did was to drug him as he wanted to make him understand that there was really nothing peaceful about death. That was a kind of a funny situation as he was drugged but still able to say things. He brought in people who were purported to be ex patients of Will just to show that he has a reason to fight to live.

But Will seems to have his own agenda as he got in touch with Thirteen to talk about mortality. He was already preparing himself for death. Foreman had directed everyone to continue the business of being doctors but House wanted everything to stand still so they will listen to him. Nobody really wanted to listen to him in this case.

Rather than side with him, they tried to convince him to just let it go and respect Will’s wishes. The patient of the week had an ailment that ordinarily should have spoken to House. He claimed to be hearing his dead brother’s voice in his head. But after House had rightly diagnosed his problem and told him what to do but the man simply refused to be healed.

Then there was the issue of the Hockey tickets that he forced into the water system. The very little problem that that created turned into a major disaster that could amount to millions of dollars. He had to accept Will’s decision eventually. It was a very House-centric episode.

Also, the scene where House and Wilson shared the good feelings about each other is also presented in a very touchy manner. House’s confession that he can’t live without Kyle (Wilson) touches the audience very deep.

This is one episode where the teaser is anytime more enticing than the real story. Perhaps, because of growing interest of the audience in the series that is near culmination. Since most of the things seem to be in wrap-up mode, like Chase quickly resigning from the post, the episode has everything that is capable of winning bonus points from the audience. Now the next move of Chase is under surveillance whether he will rebuild his future with Cameroon or audience will see some more surprises, is yet to become clear.

Chase has some more scope for performance in this episode. The scene between him and House is another appealing factor. The way the three characters, Chase, House and Wilson, emote in this scene where the MRI is being studied by House, tells many things about the state of Wilson’s health or better say his helplessness in the hands of fate. The lot of emotional drama and ups and downs are the high points of this episode.

The preview to the episode has many mind-boggling scenes presented a bit over the top. One of them was patient’s head being torn apart. Though this was very intense scene but gave the fair idea about the feel of the episode.

Since this series is a take on the lives of the doctors, it may happen that Wilson’s disease is used as a platform to convey the perfection of medical science by showing him get rid of this dreaded disease. Another possibility is portrayal of strength of destiny that treats everybody alike.

This series has loads of emotions to offer and the philosophical touch in many scenes like the after-death condition of a dead body are able to keep the audience packed with the series for full one hour. It is for sure that people will take time to come out of the aura created by the strong characters like Chase and Wilson.

House treats a drug patient and is forced to examine his own life and confront his personal demons.

Still it remains a popular show with one of the biggest strengths being that you don’t have to be a regular viewer to understand the storyline of any episode at random.

Something similar happens on this episode. Previews had already shown the doctor will become patient this week, but that it would pan out this way wasn’t expected.

This week House is faced with the prospect of his own death. He is being diagnosed by Wilson and it turns out the diagnoses was wrong. (But then when has there ever been a correct first diagnoses on ‘House’?)

So House is expecting an early death and he thinks he deserves it. But the situation changes upside down when is best friend falls on the floor. House is shocked. And rightly so. After all the dynamic between the two has always been the kernel of the series.

Wilson is his best friend. And he is the only person who was standing by him during his “last” moments. So he can’t imagine him go away. That would be the cruellest fate to have befallen him.

House shows agility and Wilson makes things easier for him by choosing the radical option. House is taken aback, but he knows he has to move fast. So ultimately he decides to go ahead with the procedure it at his own place.

It was a tough decision. But House is used to this.

The scenes that follow are difficult to watch as camera focuses on Wilson’s ill body. He is coughing blood and is badly wounded. And House, meanwhile, is trying his best to save him.

The man is in agonising pain. But House isn’t going to give up easily.

While it was the main storyline, elsewhere a six-year-old is admitted to the hospital fighting a mortal disease. The concerned parents of the little girl are a reminder of House regards to Wilson.

They also take extreme decisions and agree to an experimental medication.

And this is how concludes this intensely emotional episode of ‘House.’

While the team treats a college student who suffers from nosebleeds and hears his deceased brother speaking to him, Thirteen returns to Princeton and Foreman takes a different tack with House.

David Shore the producer of the show commented on the name of the episode and said that it is convenient with the events of the episode. And it works as a great reflection to the name of the first episode of the season that was named “Everybody Lies”. And he added that as soon as we get closer to the finale, things will become clearer about House and how he sees his future. As for the actors who will return for the season finale, it has been confirmed that Olivia Wilde and Amber Tamblym are going to appear on the final episode. And there has been rumors revolving around Kal Peen saying that he will appear to play the role of Lawrence Ktner, the dead character.
