House 8.14 “Love is Blind” Review
This episode was titled ‘Love is Blind’ and it explored an area of House that was only slightly touched upon before and has been begging for attention all this while.

It looked at House‘s parents but the unfortunate thing was that it still did not go as deep as some fans would have expected. And to add salt to injury, they now made it a comedy like episode and this placed what they showed in another light. But the good news is that the writers still have a lot to say about his parentage and the relationship he has with them.
The last time this was touched it was his relationship with his father. This time around, his mother was brought into the equation and both of them were given an all too brief a time in the episode. Wilson told House about his mother’s terminal ailment. It was easy to tell that this was just a charade but it did serve the purpose of exploring the connection between mother and son.
And the way he dropped everything to go see his mother showed that all that hiding from her in the first place could be more out of respect and trying to avoid her scrutiny than anything else.
The case of the week had a patient who had to choose between losing his hearing or death. And the role was played by Michael B. Jordan of the ‘Parenthood’ fame. In a way the feeling his character displayed can be linked to some of the issues surrounding House and may be that involving him and Dominika his wife as they only got married because she needed to green card.
Adam was giving attention and she still needs some growing up to do just as Cameron did when he started out. They might have a set course for her but it would be nice if they cut it short and do most of the growing up off camera because going through her evolution could become a tortuous exercise. But fans got to see House through her eyes this week and it was full of her own take.
The same applied with Park but this was more amusing than any thing else. It would also be interesting to have seen what his version of Foreman would have looked like. As for the romance, Will the not end up with anybody else but Melissa who had always loved him for just being him and not for what she could make of him. And the good news is that he did not loose his hearing after all after making the choice of choosing the treatment that had a better outlook.
But as it turned out, the very likeable Thomas who House thought was his biological father wasn’t. So the mom still has some secrets up her sleeve. Will House ever solve the mystery of who is father is? He seems to be running out of episodes as the show show winds down except the writers decide to give him a helping hand and cut the search short.
There are just eight episodes left for the show. They would need to resolve so many issues to really tie it down nicely but it is another question altogether if they will ever have this done.
