The season starts eleven months after House run his car into Cuddy’s wife. Three of these months were spent on the run and the other eight in prison. He is brought before a parole board, which tells him that he will be released after five days. However, before he is released, a gang leader demands that he be given twenty Vicodin. House struggles to pay the gang leader and treat another inmate with a joint pain. After two months in prison, the new Dean of Medicine, Foreman has House released into his employ. When House gets there, he finds some changes; he has lost both his office and Wilson’s friendship. He has, however, gained a new team in Dr. Chi Park, a smart but timid resident.

House has to work on a new case involving Wilson’s patient and a set of failing donor lungs. Dr. Park believes that the collapse of a man after making a million dollar donation could be caused by a neurological disorder. Meanwhile, house tries to get funds to get his old team back and Dr. Adams volunteers her services to the department. Thirteen returns, but later says goodbye. When a CEO starts having vision problems before his principal business decision, House sees it as an opportunity to fund his team through blackmail. As Dr. Park is preparing for her disciplinary hearing, Dr. Adams reveals things about her past.
Chase and Taub return to the team and their first case is of a man who suffers a heart attack when having an affair. His treatment is compromised by his conscience’s desire to confess all his sins. House is obsessed with finding the truth about Taub’s daughters. The team takes on a case of a pregnant girl who claims to, still be a virgin.
